Outdoor Defense (OUT) option for Von Duprin exit devices are designed to safeguard against moisture, temperature variations, and corrosion in exterior applications. This option is engineered to protect internal components and assemblies that are critical to exit device function and long life from moisture and the elements, as well as protect electronic features such as switches, latch retraction, delayed/controlled egress and alarm kits. Outdoor Defense products are designed to perform in outdoor applications such as courtyards, perimeter security, rooftops, and patios.

In the absence of an industry approved certification for outdoor exit door hardware, Outdoor Defense products endure a rigorous series of tests (temperature, moisture, corrosion, and dust) to confirm the product functions as intended in outdoor applications and are warranted within these testing parameters.

Von Duprin Outdoor Defense products are tested to simulate environments with driving rain, high and low temperatures, and dust and debris.

• Option: WH – Weep holes – Weep holes are ideal for devices that are mounted to exterior doors that can be exposed to rain and other elements. Hole spacing on 3′ and 4′ devices are every 6″ on center. A 3 foot device will have 5 holes, a 4 foot device will have 7 holes.
