A borrowed lite is a frame with fixed glass that functions as a fixed window. Borrowed lite frames allow light to pass from one room into another. Designed for commercial and institutional use in offices, hotels, schools, hospitals, and health care facilities. The classic frame is the most popular profile.

  • Borrowed Lite refers to a glazed area of your design not attached to a door
  • 20-gauge prefinished GalXC™ hot-dipped galvanized steel
  • Glazing not included (glass by others)
  • Includes 4 jamb pieces, no vertical or horizontal mullions included
  • TA-8 steel casing included, snap-on spring clip system
  • Includes cut-to-size glass stops. Stops install on the inside of the frame to hold the glass in place.
  • Ideal for most interior commercial drywall applications (wraps built stud wall)
  • Recommended for interior applications only
  • Easy installation, #6 drywall screws recommended for anchoring (not included with frame)
  • Order by Net I.D. (inside dimension) - width x height
  • Rough opening + 1-1/4" width + 1-1/4" height of Net I.D.
  • For glass size, 1/8" less in width & height is common field practice (glass not included)
